Mauvais sang
Leos Carax / FR, 1986 / 118 min.
This crazed mix of Nouvelle Vague and French romanticism has been called "the cult film of its generation" and "ecstatic cinema". A deadly virus is spreading through people having sex with people they are not in love with. Featuring Michel Piccoli, Denis Lavant, Julie Delpy, Juliette Binoche.

Following the violent death of a gangster, two of his henchmen try to persuade his son, Alex, to help them with their next heist. They are after the antidote to the deadly virus 'mauvais sang', which is being kept in a laboratory. The virus attacks people who go to bed together but don’t love one another. As Alex falls for the crime boss’s lover (Juliette Binoche, modelled on silent-era icon Louise Brooks), a rival gang is also trying to get its hands on the valuable serum.
