Peak Season
Steven Kanter, Henry Loevner / US, 2023 / 82 min.
A holiday romance that might or might not develop into something more; this is the premise of this charming American independent, which had its world premiere last year at SXSW where it garnered comparisons to Richard Linklater’s Before Sunrise.

Amy and Max, a New York couple planning to marry, take a break from their busy lives. Where better to get away from it all than the small town of Jackson Hole in mountainous Wyoming. While Amy has put her career on hold for now, Max is never away from his computer. A meeting with Loren, an all-round guide who teaches her the basics of fly fishing, opens up a potential new perspective for Amy.
Preliminary film
Before Peak Season you will see the 2012 short film Chopper (2') by Lars Damoiseaux and Frederik Palmaers. A praying mantis is eaten by a frog. The frog is eaten by a stork and that in turn by a crocodile. The crocodile ends up as a pair of boots and things do not end well for the wearer of those boots either.
In Eye and in national cinemas.

Screened at prominent national and international festivals, yet never released in Dutch cinemas. Quite unjustly so, Eye Filmmuseum thinks, and so it has once again brought an exceptional selection of films from international festivals to the Netherlands.
