The Misfits
John Huston / US, 1961 / 125 min.
In what was to be her last film – she would have turned 100 this year – Marilyn Monroe displayed all her talents as an actress. Her fellow actors in this drama are Clark Gable, Montgomery Clift and Eli Wallach, taciturn cowboys who chase mustangs for a living and are rivals for the affection of the seductive Roslyn (Monroe).

Reno, Nevada: four misfits meet in the desert city: three roaming cowboys and the recently divorced, disillusioned Roslyn. Which of the men will capture her heart? The Misfits, shot in black & white, was Marilyn Monroe (1926 - 1962) and Clark Gable’s final film. He died of a heart attack a few days after shooting wrapped, Monroe died under mysterious circumstances 18 months later.
