Exhibition Albert Serra – Liberté

Eye Filmmuseum presents Albert Serra – Liberté, the first exhibition in the Netherlands about the work of Catalan film and theatre director Albert Serra. For the occasion, the artist will transform the entire exhibition space into an immersive set full of nocturnal, clandestine encounters that bring together theatre, film and exhibition.

Film Academy graduation films on Eye Film Player

The Dutch Film Academy gives Eye Filmmuseum access to all graduation films from 1958 onwards. The films will be included in the collection in the coming years and partly made available on the streaming service Eye Film Player, starting with the first ten titles from 24 May. After that, a new film will be added every month.

Programmers of the Future 2024

In July, three new Programmers of the Future will present their film programmes in Eye Filmmuseum. With films against despair, a colourful trip through the human psyche by way of animated films and cinema that sharpens the senses. Aileen Ye, Samuël Leemeijer and Farah Hasanbegović are the second group to make a selection of films for Eye’s cinemas and the Eye Film Player as part of this annual training programme for future film programmers.

Spoorloos released nationwide in a brand-new restoration

Spoorloos, the Netherlands’ best psychological thriller, will be released nationwide in a brand-new restoration. In George Sluizer’s nerve-wracking Golden Calf winner a young woman (Johanna ter Steege) disappears during a holiday in southern France. This classic will be released nationwide on 13 June 2024 and will also be available on Eye Film Player as will 13 other Sluizer titles.

Eye Meets Marmoucha

During Eye Meets Marmoucha, Eye Filmmuseum and Marmoucha, a collective for music and culture from North Africa and the Middle East, join forces and present three mini-festivals, with screenings of special silent films with live musical accompaniment.
