Workshop Edit your own music video

Watch, cut and remix: in this creative editing workshop, students create their own music videos using old film fragments from the Eye Filmmuseum collection and self-selected music.

Free experiments

Is it possible to make someone from 1910 dance to modern music? It's possible in this editing workshop. By combining and manipulating footage (flipping, coloring, rewinding, cutting), students discover the power of editing. They work with a professional editing software in the Eye Filmmuseum studio.

Watch, listen, and experiment

The workshop begins with a burst of inspiration: clips from famous artists and VJs are viewed. Students work in pairs to create their remixes. There are no strict rules for remixing, students can experiment freely with the archival material. Throughout their work, they receive guidance from two experienced film teachers at every step. At the end, all remixes are screened and discussed together.

For whom

This program is suitable for all levels of secondary education. Edit your own music video is in line with core objectives 48, 50, 51 and 52 and with the attainment targets of Kunst Algemeen and CKV.

All years of HAVO / VWO, VMBO-GL, VMBO-TL and MBO The pro version is suitable for MBO, HBO, and students from secondary education with more experience in making films.
