Making film music
During an interactive tour of Eye, pupils are first acquainted with film, its history and the role of sound. They then attend a workshop in the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ to apply the knowledge they have gained. Using special instruments such as synthesizers and theremins, pupils will themselves create a live soundtrack to a classic film scene. The fun thing is: everyone can make music at any level, you don’t have to know how to read notes.
This programme is suited for all secondary education levels.
Soundtrack Live
What is the power of sound in film? Is a thriller without suspense music really all that scary? And what is the effect of a ‘leitmotiv’? Eye and the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ are the two venues for Soundtrack Live. Pupils will discover how sound and image work together.
