Shooting Stars

Every year, European Film Promotion (EFP) organises European Shooting Stars at the Berlinale, with the aim of highlighting European acting talent.

Every EFP member organisation is entitled to put forward one actor for the Shooting Stars programme. A jury of international professionals selects the ten most promising and versatile European actors from all the candidates, who then participate in the prestigious event.

For four days they are presented to the international film industry, the public and the media. They participate in a specially designed programme that enables them to meet over 80 prominent international casting directors, producers and filmmakers. This lays the groundwork for a professional network that is essential for launching an international career. The event concludes with an award ceremony at the Berlinale Palast, at which all these talented actors receive a European Shooting Star Award.
