Financial Support

SEE NL is able to contribute some of the travel expenses to a number of selected festivals for directors attending the festivals to represent their selected films.

As a means of promoting Dutch films abroad, directors (and sometimes lead actors) are invited to attend screenings of their film at festivals. SEE NL is able to contribute some of the travel expenses to a number of selected festivals. Submit a request for this contribution ahead of time at international@eyefilm.nl.

A travel grant must comply with the following conditions:
- The invitation is from a festival included in the SEE NL Travel Grant List;
- The festival has sent an official invitation and is offering at least 3 nights at a hotel;
- The films selected by the festival, were produced with the aim of being screened in cinemas and were supported in principle by the Netherlands Film Fund/CoBO;
- Only one travel grant may be requested per festival.

The travel subsidy for feature films and feature-length documentaries amounts to 2/3 of the cost of the cheapest ticket to the destination, with a maximum of €600 outside of Europe and 2/3 of the cost of the cheapest ticket to the destination, with a maximum of €200 within Europe. The travel subsidy for short films and documentaries amounts to 2/3 of the cost of the cheapest ticket to the destination, with a maximum of €300 outside of Europe and 2/3 of the cost of the cheapest ticket to the destination, with a maximum of €150 within Europe. The abovementioned amounts and conditions may be subject to change. So, always submit a request before you travel.
