Created by Eye, this streaming platform already contains almost 40 films restored by Eye, among them Spoorloos (1988), Shoes (1916) and Wan Pipel (1976).

In 2021 Eye Filmmuseum celebrates its 75th anniversary by releasing 75 restored works from its collection on screen and on Eye Film Player throughout the year.

Eye Film Player is the streaming platform where you can watch films from the Eye collection: sensational documentaries, Dutch feature films, international film classics and wonderful compilations featuring footage from silent movies. New titles are added weekly. They include both free films and films for rent. Some 120 films are already available on Eye Film Player.

This year Eye Filmmuseum marks its 75th anniversary by releasing 75 restored works from its collection. 25 films will be screened in the Eye cinemas. Almost 40 restored works can already be enjoyed on Eye Film Player. That number will exceed 50 by the end of 2021.

The Eye collection dates back to 1946, when the first predecessor of Eye was founded: the Nederlands Historisch Filmarchief.

The History of Eye Filmmuseum

Not every visitor to the architectural gem that is Eye Filmmuseum will know that the museum started out seventy-five years ago, in one tiny room.
