Diciannove
Giovanni Tortorici / IT, GB, 2024 / 108 min.
19-year-old Leonardo moves to Siena to study Italian literature and experiences increasing mental turmoil. Playful, atmospheric character study of a restless young adult. Co-produced by Luca Guadagnino.

19-year-old Leonardo (Manfredi Marini) wants nothing more than to leave Palermo and his dominant mother. Out of ideas, he follows his older, partying sister to London to study business, yet returns to Italy. He impulsively decides to study Italian literature in Siena. However, the somewhat stubborn Leonardo has issues adapting and scarcely has contact with his housemates. He hides away in his room, complaining about his professor who has Dante all wrong in his eyes. He moves to Turin where his ideas about literature and being an author become increasingly rigid.
In Eye and in national cinemas.
