Een ochtend van zes weken
Nikolai van der Heyde / NL, 1966 / 81 min.
A racing driver and a photo model embark on a doomed relationship. Nikolai van der Heyde made a great impression with his powerfully visual feature film debut.

Racing driver Jimmy meets the Parisian photo model Annette at the Zandvoort Circuit. In the best tradition of the New Wave film, the two lovers are unable to cement their relationship. Jimmy not only loses the woman he loves, but also his self-confidence. Disillusioned, he is forced to give up his career as a racing driver.
Director Nikokai van der Heyde was a student at the Film Academy at the same time as Pim de la Parra, Wim Verstappen and Gied Jaspers, fellow editors of film magazine Skoop. Van der Heyde’s feature film debut was praised by virtually all reviewers. He was lauded as an ‘original filmmaker' capable of delivering a serious exploration of the relationship between a man and a woman.
Film journalist Jan Blokker praised Van der Heyde as one of the filmmakers who would 'shape the future of Dutch filmmaking’. The rising talent would later be reviled for productions like De dwaze lotgevallen van Sherlock Jones and Nitwits.
