Eye on Art Research Labs: Piet Zwart Institute "Disobedient Narratives"
Eye on Art's Research Labs provide scope for a new generation of curators and artists to hone their skills. Students from different art academies and universities are asked to put together a programme featuring their own work and films (including remixes) from Eye’s collection. Research Labs do not follow a strict format and often result in a cultural crossover between film and other art forms.

The best-curated programme and the best work will be awarded by a student jury and a jury of Eye film professionals.
disobedient narratives
One day, the TV breaks down: instead of featuring music and news it presents memories, thoughts and fantasies. Meanwhile, Italian troops celebrate a victorious return from Africa; a dancer moves illuminated by night vision; a rosary is used to trace memories of colonial times. A borderless space is populated by scattered objects, identities multiply through algorithms, and our past is erased. We live in a non-linear age. We are everywhere and nowhere at all times.
Twenty artists and filmmakers from the Piet Zwart Institute explore non-linearity through film and moving images. Set in a conventionally linear space-time and shown on a single screen, we investigate how the fractured self navigates reality. This one-hour program forks into a universe of thoughts and experiences.
